Hi Mary,

We didn't load hoopla before using Aspen, but we did load OverDrive records with separate 856s for the consortium and Advantage libraries, even though the URLs were all the same. In case it helps, the format we used was:

=856  40$3Overdrive$uhttps://link.overdrive.com/?websiteId=82&titleId=4554108$zC/W MARS patrons click here to download this title (login required)$9CWMARS

Could it be an issue with the Bib Import Merge Profile? We used Add Specification 856 and Replace Specification 901c, leaving Remove/Preserve blank.

Take care,

Carol

Hi all,

Does anyone load Hoopla records to their catalog? It looks like we'll be doing that for a while, but I've run into a problem loading the records via the client.

We just made a change with Hoopla in the 856 tag configuration. Instead of one URL with a string of $9 subfields with all the subscribing libraries, we decided to have multiple 856s, one for each library.

Example:
=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9BOLTON
=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9NAUGTK
=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9KENT

=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9MORRIS

=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9SHLTON$9HUNTNG$9SHLSYS
=856  40$uhttps://www.hoopladigital.com/title/16127217?utm_source=MARC&Lid=hh2837$yInstantly available on hoopla. Click here to access.$9KLWRTH

They don't load, however, and I wonder if it's because 856$u is identical on each line.
(we've been changing $x to $y to allow the message to display. It's never been a problem.)

I was very much looking forward to the new format, thinking it will make management much easier as libraries add and drop their subscriptions. This recent setback has been disheartening.

We don't have any plans to move to Aspen.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Mary
