[Board] Evergreen Online Conference 2024 budget

Hello all! I come to you in my capacity as secretary of the TEP board – we had a few questions about the updated budget – if we can get some more information then we can go ahead and  do an email vote so you all can keep moving forward 😊
(We did also approve the image from Logo B with the text from Logo C – we wanted to get that voted on so that the sponsor prospectus can get finalized.)

Here are the two issues we wanted some more information/discussion on:

  1.  Pheedloop – Galen’s recommendation is as follows: “Pheedloop be contracted for only one year, not two years. The original budget request did not account for the second year of expenses, and given that we're planning on an in-person conference for 2025, may not be necessary. I acknowledge that we may wish to do other online events that year, but to my knowledge there are as yet no _concrete_ plans to do this, and Pheedloop is expensive enough that we should not make a two-year commitment only on the thought that we _might_ use the second year.” The board also wanted to see the breakdown of the costs so we can see what will scale with number of attendees, etc.
  2.  We were curious about the request to add a second keynote speaker when a primary keynote had not yet been identified. Personally, I think Terry Reese talking about his work with MarcEdit would be a lovely keynote (now, I’m also a cataloger so I may be biased). Is there already a primary keynote that the committee is in discussions with? (We weren’t necessarily objecting to the expense, but didn’t feel like we had enough context to vote on the change.)

In general, everyone is excited about how the conference is coming along and appreciate all the hard work that goes into it!
