Good morning,

I will be attending the meeting this afternoon but am posting the Outreach
report in advance.

The annual report is in progress. I will be sharing a draft of it with the
Outreach list this week if you're subscribed and/or interested. Next year I
will be looking for a dedicated graphic designer. While I'm proud to have
shepherded the effort over the years as both the designer and an editor I
also feel like I've taken it as far as I can with my graphic design skill
set and want to step back to a purely editorial role. I hope to get a
community contribution from a member with a graphic designer but barring
that will be approaching the board about funds for hiring one.

We have a tentative host for the Hack-A-Way and I am awaiting confirmation
that they are ready to announce it.

We, and for once I mean we, not just Stephanie, have been working on a
website overhaul. Stephanie Leary has been the driving force on it and
while we have a ways to go I am happy to be able to show a very early
preview.

Please do not take too much from this as representative of the final
product but it will give a good idea of the new layout and template we are
building from. Content and aesthetics are still works in progress. As we
get closer to finishing it we look forward to sharing a more complete
version and incorporating input from all of the stakeholders.

I had a message passed along to me that the conference committee might want
some help with the social media for the conference. We can talk about that
in the Outreach or Conference section. There appears to have been some
confusion about the social media platforms. As I previously reported to the
board we are currently supporting Bluesky and Facebook though we still have
the X/Twitter account if we want to dust it off for the conference. I've
also contemplated looking at tools to make using all of the Meta platforms
convenient to do single posts across - Facebook, Threads and Instagram but
have not yet had the time to explore more. Automated posting to Bluesky
should also be viable thanks to a fairly accessible API that I see a lot of
posting platforms supporting.
