Hi all,
As I've mentioned in previous emails, the MassLNC Evergreen Development
Initiative has been working with Equinox to implement the next step of the
web client project: moving acquisitions to Angular interfaces.
The coding project will be divided up into ten sprints, and I'm please to
report that we have a quote and tech specs for the 1st sprint (Sprint 0).
Sprint 0 is for infrastructure and tool building, which will lay the
groundwork for all future sprints.
Sprint 0 comes with some exciting features, some of which can be used in
other web client interfaces when they eventually move from AngularJS to
Angular. My favorite is a new filter available in the top row of grids that
will allow users to filter the data retrieved in the grid. Although this
filter is a necessary component to bring feature parity to the acq
interfaces, I can think of many other web client interfaces where this
filter will be handy.
Sprint 0 will also include the adoption of a JavaScript library to
accurately perform monetary calculations in the client. This feature will
fix the existing issue where calculations are not always rounded to two
decimal places.
The MassLNC partners believe that implementing this project is a critical
next step in the web client project. A clean and consistent client across
all interfaces is essential to bring on new Evergreen libraries and to make
the experience a positive one for our existing staff users. Just as the
community came together to help fund the initial web client project, we're
hopeful that you all can come together again to fund its continued
development.
The full tech specs for the project are available at
https://yeti.esilibrary.com/dev/public/techspecs/angacq_sprint0_final.pdf.
There are two options available for filters that are outlined in the tech
specs, and the MassLNC development partners agree that Option A is the best
to implement.
If anyone is interested in helping us fund this project, please send me an
e-mail, and I will provide more details.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Kathy
