[Evergreen-admin] Installing opensrf

Hi Jeff,

You should make sure you've followed the instructions for installing prerequisites:

http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/OpenSRF/README_2_1_2.html#_installing_prerequisites

It's also important which Linux user is performing which action. Pay close attention to lines that begin with "As the root user" or "As the opensrf user". Without knowing full details, I'd guess that you downloaded and extracted the tarball as root when it's better to create the opensrf user first, su to that user, make sure you're in /home/opensrf, then download the tarball as opensrf and go from there.

If you need real-time help, remember that the #evergreen IRC channel is available. It's sparsely populated over the weekends typically, but if you ask questions and are patient, people will eventually respond.

Good luck!

Chris
