I doubt if the part that Gislaine mentioned is in the official docs. I  
am in the middle of updating some very basic cataloging documentation  
for the EG 2.4 official docs with my intern, and I will try to include  
what Gislaine mentioned. Especially since that functionality had  
tripped me up before when I first started testing authorities.
