[Evergreen-catalogers] Updating Evergreen and LibraryThing for Libraries

Hi Jennifer,
Not sure that you got a reply to this one, and while I'm unsure about the specific requirements for LibraryThing for Libraries I can confirm that Evergreen on a 2.3.2+ system does not have trouble for us exporting that number of records, either in the staff client (Vandelay interface) or using the command line marc_export tool. I recently tested files with 1,000, 4,000 and 10,000 database ids in a text file and did not have a problem -- aside from patience perhaps for the 10,000 =)
The marc_export tool allows you to easily export your entire set of bib records, but I don't believe it has any incremental or date range awareness (a quick look at the options suggests not):
https://github.com/evergreen-library-system/Evergreen/blob/master/Open-ILS/src/support-scripts/marc_export.in
So you may be looking at a custom solution to grab records based on create_date amongst other criteria from the database if that's the requirement.
Evergreen 2.4 can supply marc via OpenSearch which could be an option for the future:

Hope that helps,
Mark

I have found the installation instructions for LTFL and it talks about exporting records via Vandlelay. I have heard that Vandlelay has a limit around 2000 or so records. Im curious if we do an upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3.5+ how that may work? Do we need to upload all the records in the database or just the newly added/newly cataloged items?
