"Do you add the $e to the authority record or does it only reside in the bibliographic record?"

The subfield $e in 100 field should reside only in the bibliographic record as it does not belong in the author's Name Authority File/record.

By the way, talking about how the EG Authority Module functions: I should know a little better but I don't. Just found that I cannot even load an authority record into it. Maybe this is a different authorization issue at our end.

Hello List,

We have been working on some problems with our authorities and as such have not been validating or creating new. I have a question about the $e qualifier (RDA) in the name authorities. Please see the question below from one of our cataloguers. How are other libraries saving theirs? Do you add the $e to the authority record or does it only reside in the bibliographic record?

"I have been wondering if you save the string as one, which would mean that you could have multiple Gislaine Hamelins, for instance, one as an author, one as an editor, one as an illustrator, etc., OR, do you save the name once and add the standard qualifiers to each."

We do not add the |e relator code to the authority record. 

Currently, author names with the relator code do sort separately. There is a launchpad bug about this : https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1308090 The more people that indicate they are affected by the bug, the better!

I would like the authority record to be the basic name with qualifiers like John Edward for John  E. and the date.

The rest is interesting but can cause confusion with my rookie copy catalogers,
