[Evergreen-catalogers] Fixing the publication display in buckets (or any columns)

Hi Mary,
I thought for sure someone else would answer this, but I haven’t seen any replies come through on the list. I looked in our system and we don’t see the whole 260/264, we only see the publisher name in that field. I asked our System Admin if we had customized this in our catalog, and he doesn’t remember doing so. He said the difference was probably caused by the version of Evergreen that you are on. We are currently on 3.2.10.

I searched in the bug reports for “publisher name” and you did make a bug report for it back in 2018. https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1795978

I think this is really interesting, because we see only the publisher name in our catalog, but we also see everything in all lower case. A comment from Tiffany Little on that report said that once they applied a fix to make the title and author fields to display capitalizations correctly, they began seeing the entire 260/264 field. Your screenshot is pretty small, but it does look like you see correct capitalizations. Food for thought…

Hi all,

This bothers me a lot, but I'm not sure if it's something that requires a bug report or if it's a local display issue that we can fix locally.

Where there are columns that display the publication information, we're getting the place of publication in addition to the publisher name. It's annoying for sorting purposes. I want to sort records by publisher name; it helps when checking for duplicate records.

With each new release, I eagerly check to see if the publisher name alone is displaying, but I keep getting the place (260/264 $a).

Is anyone else experiencing this, or did you find a way to alter it to just show the 260/264 $b?
