[Evergreen-catalogers] FW: Spine Labels

We used DYMO (450 turbo, I think) label printers for many, many years.

After too much fading in certain areas of one building, we looked into solutions.  We were going to go with more durable labels (possibly the same vendor already mentioned), but upon finding out newer Dymo models wouldn't be able to use 3rd party labels, we decided to bail and switch to something else.  (Ours were getting quite old, and would eventually need replaced.)

Ended up with Zebra ZD421, specifically the Thermal Transfer model (instead of the direct thermal version of that same model).  Supposed to not be subject to the fading one can get with direct thermal.  No worries working with 3rd party supplies, either.

Been pretty happy with them so far.  Haven't seen any fading.  Time will tell, I suppose.
