Many thanks, Terran and Lindsay! I think you have set me on the right path, and I will know shortly since I am getting ready to see if I can corral the information we need.

Deanna

Hi Deanna,

To add to Terran's suggestion - if your library anonymizes/ages data, you will probably want to use the Combined Aged and Active Circulations source! That will ensure you get all the circs, not just those still associated with patrons.

Hi Deanna,

I would probably do something like this, which only looks at the items that actually circulated:

Source: Circulation

Filters:
Checkout / Renewal Library (In List)
Checkout Date/Time (Transform to Date, change Operator to Between)
(and then maybe filters for shelving location and/or call number to focus on particular sections, depending on the size of the library)

Display:
(whichever display you fields you want here - I usually do owning library, shelving location, call number, title, author, barcode)
Circ ID (Transform to Count - this will total up the number of circs for each item).

I hope that helps,
Terran

Subject: [Evergreen-general] Most Circulations in Past Year

Hi, Adam,

I have been trying to figure out a way to see how many times each book circulated in 2021 or, in lieu of that, in the past 12 months. I know this data is somewhere because I can see it on the Quick Summary tab when I view an item’s history. There is a column that says “Total Circs – Current Year.” Would I be correct in assuming that “Current Year” is equal to the past 12 months in this case?

I cannot figure out from which table this information is drawn. I suspect I also need to know how to query it just right to get the timeframe I want. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
Deanna
