[Evergreen-general] Holds on individual serials?

Benjamin,

We also use parts in Evergreen Indiana. This is not currently incorporated into the Serials Module AFAIK. We do have some libraries using that module, and then they individually add the parts from the staff catalog. There is currently development in process that addresses some of the parts issues that Kate describes.

While I'm not sure if there is some mechanism in the serials module that makes things different (we don't use it), we utilize monograph parts BIG TIME in our consortium. It gets the job done re: holds, but it's rough making sure everything has parts because if ONE holding has parts, it really only works (okay, it works best) if then every holding on that record has parts.

If I understand it correctly, there’s no mechanism to put a hold on a specific volume of a serial with the holds interface. Is this something you encounter or have a workaround for? Do you use monographic parts? Don’t allow holds on serials? Have staff add copy level holds?
