Hi,

FYI -- the bit directly relevant to the web team is the SFC's logo
redesign and request that the use of the acronym "SFC" be
discontinued.

Regards,

Galen

TL;DR: Conservancy published our FY2011 Form 990 and annual report
today. We've also launched a new logo; I've included links to the
logo kit and a few style guidelines. Please update your projects'
websites accordingly.

Full Version:
Conservancy has published our FY2011 (Mar. 1, 2011 - Feb. 29, 2012)
Form 990, along with a FY2011 annual report (a first for us).
Everything can be downloaded here:

Form 990 & 990-T:
http://sfconservancy.org/docs/conservancy_Form-990_fy-2011.pdf
Annual Report:
http://sfconservancy.org/docs/conservancy_annual-report_fy-2011.pdf

The annual report includes a few selected highlights from you, our
member projects. Many thanks to all of the projects who sent in their
milestones and activities. While we couldn't fit every submission we
received in the report, we want to get better at helping you broadcast
your accomplishments to the public, and this is a good start.

As part of the publishing of our FY2011 annual report, we're also
launching a new brand identity for Conservancy, built around a logo
and wordmark (designed in Inkscape, natch). The new logo kit can be
downloaded here:

http://sfconservancy.org/img/conservancy-logo_package.zip

The ZIP archive contains the logo kit in PDF, SVG, ODG, and PNG formats.

Please update your websites and other documents to display the new
logo and wordmark as applicable, and please retire the old logo and
wordmark as soon as you are able. If you need the logo image in a
particular size or file format (and if you're not adept at using
Inkscape or GIMP to manipulate the files in the logo kit), let me know
and I'll create the image you need.

As part of our rebrand, I'd also ask that member projects follow a few
style guidelines for web and print applications:

- please do not add a "the" in front of "Software Freedom Conservancy"
or "Conservancy" in any written context. We've admittedly used a
"the" intermittently in the past, but we'd like to be consistent going
forward. So, instead of "Project X is a member of the Conservancy,"
just say "Project X is a member of Conservancy."

- please use "Conservancy" as the abbreviation for "Software Freedom
Conservancy." We're discontinuing the use of the acronym "SFC," and
we ask your help in doing the same.

Please pass this info along to your respective Project Leadership
Committees. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best, -Tony
