[OPEN-ILS-DEV] Staff Client splash page - adding function links

I noticed from one or another screenshot from the Indiana docs that you can include shortcut links to key functionality in your splash or portal page(s). 

Anybody care to share an example of how I could markup a text-based link in my portal page to perform one or another of the actions accessible in our staff client menus?
