The problem exists for versions of ejabberd 2.0.3 and higher (Ubuntu
9.04 ships with 2.0.3). I downgraded the previous Ubuntu version from
8.10 (2.0.1-2) and it worked fine (and downgrading was very easy - no
dependency problems to resolve, IIRC).
