Wow, great work everyone.
Bill, I have tested trunk on 9.04 with ejabberd 2.0.3 and it worked without a hitch. I have not gotten as far as installing the OpenILS services yet, but the basic OpenSRF setup now starts properly and functions properly with the math service.

For reference, we're not setting the 'from' attribute because Ejabberd
replaces the 'from' attribute with whatever user at host/resource a client is
connected with. According to the Ejabberd changelog [1], it still verifies
and/or replaces the 'from' attribute when it reliably can, but there are
some scenarios (not encountered by OpenSRF) where it can't.
I've committed some changes to the Perl and C code in OpenSRF trunk to set
the 'from' attribute on outbound messages.
