There's no active development along those lines that I'm aware of,
though I think some stakeholders are starting to gather resources and
plan for it.  There are a lot of things I want to do there.

I've skimmed that code once, but didn't see it in action so wasn't
sure what it did.  Is it available in some form the community can look
at?  Maybe you can reply to this thread with a patch and a DCO?
