[OPEN-ILS-DEV] submit payments upon double enter press?

Currently in the billing interface in the staff client, to collect a
payment you have to use the Apply Payment button after entering an
amount in the Payment received field, either with the mouse or with
keyboard navigation (for example, Alt+P). Pressing Enter after
entering an amount will show how the amount would be distributed
amongst multiple checked bills, and re-selects the content of the
Payment received field so that you could type over the entered amount
with a new amount.

I'm wondering what front-line staff would think about a change in the
behavior of the Enter key, such that the first time you press Enter
after entering an amount, it shows you the payment distribution as
before, but the Apply Payment button then gets keyboard focus instead
of the Payment received field, and a subsequent Enter press (or even a
Spacebar press) would activate the button and make the payment.

What do you think? My motivation is to make the workflow easier for
one-handed non-mouse use, where entry can simply involve the number
pad for the majority of use. For setups where the keyboard and mouse
are to the left of the books being scanned, it may not make much of a
difference, but if everything is to the right of the books, or below
the books, it might. I could implement this behavior and make it
optional based on a per-library setting.
