Hi DIGers and Developers,
I took a first stab at some of the migration sections for 1.6 and 2.0.
I wonder if I could get some folks to review the migrating data chapter odf the documentation for 1.6 and 2.0?
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/migratingdata.html
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/1.6/draft/html/migratingdata.html
in particular, please look at the sections:
Migrating Bibliographic Records Using the ESI Migration Tools (Based on info from M. Peters, Repke De Vries and my onw testing)
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/migrating_records_using_migration_tools.html
Adding Copies to Bibliographic Records (based on info from Repke De Vries)
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/migratingbibrecordcopies.html
Exporting Bibliographic Records into MARC files (based on my testing and experiments)
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/exportingbibrecordsintoMARC.html
Importing Authority Records (from http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=authorities:2.0:importing_authority_records -- Dan Scott)
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.0/draft/html/importingauthorityrecords.html
Criticisms, comments, edits and suggestions are very welcome.
The importing records chapters are very generic. Perhaps, we can add specific difficult cases / other examples to the mix?
Thanks,
Robert
