Hello all

I can report that we managed to solve the issue. It was a question of streamlining the hostname configuration starting from /etc/hosts throughout all services (memchache, ejabberd, apache etc) AND removing the file /var/lib/ejabberd/.erlang.cookie

Thank's to all of you who tried to help
