Re-post of a message I sent to the list last summer -- curious if there are any updates from anybody on development initiatives being proposed or funded for enhancing data entry in the marc editor, especially for fixed fields (like drop-down pick lists and other general usability improvements, etc.)

Hello all,

Anybody supporting any development work on enhancing fixed fields editing in the
MARC editor?

This may include features like:

* drop-down pick lists for valid values for the MARC format of the item
* usability enhancements to deal with fixed field annoyances (e.g. like MARC's
use of "space as data")
* support for non-MARC experts: maybe bubble text on hover over label, and / or
expansion of labels (e.g. DtSt = Date/Pub Status), etc.?
