I agree that would be an excellent start, Robin. One of the most useful
first tasks is to brainstorm what we need/want the site to do and shout
our favorite modules that provide the tasks. This conversation started
with how we could schlep Docbook around but supporting a community
definitely has other components to it as we know.
Again, as soon as I got "official" approval to roll up my sleeves and
break ground on a Drupal site, they backed the manure truck up to my
cube and pulled the lever
I put on my task list re-reading the current wiki and starting a page
for initial planning.
Roma:
I am also not convinced that Drupal is the best document management
system. If anything, it would offer an interface to sometime more
robust. I'll jot Twiki down as a possiblility for the Documents
section. SVN, CVS or Bizaar are much better choices for managing code
revisions than Drupal would be as well, but we still want to provide
download links to the latest releases of the actual code as well.
Drupal is not going to solve all problems all by it's self and shouldn't
be asked to. (imho)

Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-DOCUMENTATION] Drupal support update
Hi all, I've been thinking about Drupal and its functionality,
especially the various modules, but that is about it on my end.
There are lots of great (and not so great) modules in Drupal... and of
course, I have my favorites, too. I can look at
EG-ils.org with an eye towards Drupalizing, and see which modules might
work best... at least it would be a start. ;-)

Just that I too surfaced around 9 .a.m. today from several weeks on
the road, more or less, and think this is a great direction to pursue!
Let us know what we can do to help... Paul Weiss and I are talking
later today.
I too need to wrap my head around style manuals and whatnot!
