Hi Jason,

Thank you for a prompt reply. You must have some kind of magic power. I
made changes yesterday and waited overnight for the client to come to
its senses, but saw the same old id choices in the morning. After
getting a reply from you, I decided to restart the client once more,
and, lo and behold, my changes are now in.

As for the order of ids in the drop down list, it looks like the client
displays them in the same order as they come from 'select *'. The
default is '-- Required --' anyway, so the order doesn't matter much to
me.
