Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] acquisitions + sales tax

Taking a poll...

How do people generally deal with sales tax in an acquisitions scenario? How would you like it to function?

Is it generally configured ahead of time (say, tax rates on a per-vendor level) or entered manually at PO creation time? At what granularity do different tax rates need to be configured? At the Vendor level, PO level, line item level, etc.?

Is there anything special to consider when applying sales tax for a items purchased from a vendor using a different currency? Is the assumption that a tax rate is entered and the system will calculate the amount in the local currency (much like price)?

TIA for the input.
