[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Plperl

I am trying to install Evergreen on Debian Etch. 

When I run: 

postgres at evergreen:~$ createlang plperl evergreen 

I receive: 

createlang: language installation failed: ERROR: could not load library "/usr/local/stow/pgsql/lib/plperl.so": /usr/local/stow/pgsql/lib/plperl.so: undefined symbol: Perl_croak 


Any thoughts?
