Hi Judy,

I just spoke with a PINES patron with the same complaint.  In his case, he was placing holds from his home computer and they were not showing up for either him or for staff.  I saw from a direct view of the database that there were holds with expiration dates that occurred before the hold request date, so his holds were expired as they were placed.  It turns out that the date on his computer was set to 6 months ago and the OPAC was populating the expiration date based on the computer's date (setting the default expiration date to a date in the past).

I don't know if that's what you're seeing, but hopefully that helps troubleshoot.
