[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problem with Renewing items from Patron Accounts

Hi Again - just wanted to report on a bit more testing - it looks like the
problem really is with items that have had holds that were cancelled in the
OPAC, EG doesn't want to "untarget" them and it stops the renewals....has
anyone else ever experienced this? I'm sure we've missed something
somewhere in our set-up, I don't think this could be a bug because surely
someone else would have noticed it by now???? Any thoughts or pointers to
what we might have done wrong would be much appreciated.

This is the circ staffer's description of her tests, these are test patrons
but we've had enough reports of this from students that we're pretty
convinced that this is the problem, she used items that have not ever
circulated in EG (we went live July 09):

*Scenario 1 *

* *

· my account # 000403723

· Frank Sinatra – 30731101052862

· Ella Fitzgerald – 30731101052839

item barcode – 013410539797928

· Placed a hold on this item for me

· Went to OPAC – cancelled the hold from my account

· Checked item out to Frank Sinatra and made it due tomorrow

· Went to OPAC to renew for Frank

· Message came up – would not renew

· Checked the item in

· Checked it out to Ella

· Went to renew on OPAC

· Message came up – would not renew because item is needed for a
hold

*Scenario 2*

* *

item barcode - 30731000819114

· checked out to Ella

· did not edit due date

· Went to OPAC to renew for Ella

· Message came up – would not renew because item is needed for a
hold

*Scenario 3*

Item barcode – 30731100897366 (no circs on this item ever)

· Checked out to Frank

· Edit due date – due next Thursday

· Went to OPAC to renew for Ella

· Message came up - would not renew because item is needed for a
hold
