Hi,

Just a quick heads-up that as of today, the Craftsman OPAC skin is
deprecated and has been removed from the upcoming 2.1 release of Evergreen.

This follows long-standing difficulties keeping the Craftsman skin up to
date as features got added to the Evergreen OPAC over the years. It
also follows an attempt that Dan Scott made in August 2010 [1] to find
individuals and/or organizations willing to maintain the skin. As a
result of the fact that nobody expressed sustained interest in taking
responsibility for the skin, Craftsman, which already has bugs in 2.0.x,
became even less functional in the upcoming 2.1.x.

Thanks to Joseph Lewis and Thomas Berezansky for helping to pull the
plug today.

It would be a good idea for current users of the Craftsman skin to
account for the deprecation now when planning their upgrade to 2.1 (or
to 2.2, which will be the first full release that includes the Template
Toolkit OPAC).
