I believe this same interface ("xul"-based) is available in 1.6 hidden
away in the Local Admin section, above the "Classic" pull list.  It's
basically the same interface that powers most of the other holds list
interfaces in the client: Circulation->Browse Hold Shelf, Actions for
this Record->View Holds, and Patron Display->Holds.

The main problem with it (and why you see extra buttons in 2.x for
Print Full Pull List, etc.) is scaling.  If you have hundreds or more
entries showing up, then it's pulling too much data over the wire and
also using up a lot of memory if you go to sort a column or print the
list (since it has to then retrieve everything, not just the rows
listed on-screen).  These alternate print strategies are attempts to
get around that (and of course, folks can always run a report and
print that).
