[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Unique(?) Evergreen set up & users

Hey Jennifer,
Sitka has a lot of libraries and each one is pretty much walled off and has
its own circ policies. The most important part for Sitka is enforcing
hard hold boundaries so that holds don't get captured outside of the walls,
as this can create misleading expectations for patrons where the
infrastructure doesn't exist for transiting items between libraries. This
is all pretty simple using the default settings though.
Sitka libraries have had some issues with the JSPAC and patrons "escaping"
the wall, but we've really had a hard time finding how they do this -- it
could just be they are deleting CGI parameters from the URL which we can't
do much about.
With permissions, it's totally possible to have entirely separate
permission groups for each library, but this could become unmanageable if
you aren't careful. Sitka set up three separate sets of permission (and
patron) groups for each public libraries, post-secondary libraries and
government libraries. You can use the "application_perm" field to help
isolate these groups from one another.
Let me know if you have more questions, if you can keep it on the list
that's great as I'm sure others may benefit from this information.
