If I understand this correctly, it sounds like exactly what our
libraries are looking for! I think this would be especially useful for
displays where the items come from many different parts of the
collection. It's easy enough to scan all the items and change the
shelving location to "Display" but to revert them is more complicated
when some are fiction, some nonfiction, some DVDs, etc., all with
different locations.
And having this work for a date in the future or now would work
perfectly for the two types of displays we deal with -- ones where the
items are supposed to return to the display after checkout, and ones
where they aren't.
