[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Pending Patrons functions

Is anybody using (as it appears in 2.2) the Pending Patrons functionality in re self-registration? 


I can't find any documentation on it, only that it's a "s taging area for patron data from self-registration, migrations, external systems, etc." ( http://evergreen-ils.org/blog/?p=314) and various IRC chatter, most of which dates to 2010/2011.
