You might be interested in one or both of the hackfest ideas I've
proposed for EG 2012 at
http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=dev:hackfest:eg2012
Specifically:
1) The current limitation of doing added content lookups via ISBN
might prevent you from getting any useful info from Syndetics for
music recordings
2) Overcoming that limitiation and hooking up MusicBrainz as an added
content provider might make you reassess Syndetics.
Two big ifs, though: we need to solve #1 before moving on to #2. But
I'm interested in hacking away at it :)
Also, aside: anyone who wants to propose development hackfest
projects, feel free to edit the wiki page accordingly! There's no
formal process, I just made this up, but right now the idea is that
you can just identify something you want to work on and might want to
work with others on, allocate a block of time (in an ideal world) and
a timeslot if that makes sense, and hit "Save".
