[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Printing spine labels

Hi,
I tried this but the PDF included all the formatting info not just the labels. All nicely lined up along with the labels.
I am using CutePDF. I installed both the CutePDF writer and CutePDF converter.
This looks like it would be a good solution for us if I can get it to work.
Thanks,
Janet

Hi Barbara,
Here, we wanted to keep using our laser printers that worked fine in our old ILS. To that end, I wrote a little web application and a workflow to get spine labels on standard Avery-type label stock.
The workflow involves printing to PDF from Evergreen, instead of to a real printer. So you'll need something like the free PDFCreator for that. Then you upload the PDF to the web app, for which you'll need a Linux computer with some extra stuff installed. You can select where on the label sheet you want the output to start. This then generates another PDF that matches the Avery stock we use.
Someone with some Linux experience and really basic programming knowledge could edit the web app to meet your own needs for fonts, formatting, etc.
You can try it out here:

And click the "show instructions" link to read all the steps.
Anyway, if you find that helpful, cool!
Yours,
John
