[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] removing deleted item from Clear Holds

If the hold is showing in the client when you Browse the Holdshelf, you can try selecting it and, choosing Cancel Hold from the Actions menu.

Yep, already did that. It updated the status to Canceled, which I thought would make it go away after a day. It didn't.

I see a button that says Clear these Holds, but it's grayed out. I thought maybe someone with higher permissions could click that and make it go away, but I just called IT and even Admin privileges show that button grayed out.

So, I felt free to go crazy on the system. I was going to create a new item and retarget the cancelled hold. But I just read Tina's suggest to mark as Available (which didn't work because it said it was already available). Then I tried marking it Missing. That "worked"! It's off the Clear Shelf-Available Holds list.

It's not as satisfying as actually removing it.... Now I'm just waiting for the day when this comes back to haunt me! :)

Thanks for your ideas, Michele and Tina!

-Holly

Hi Holly,

If the hold is showing in the client when you Browse the Holdshelf, you can try selecting it and, choosing Cancel Hold from the Actions menu.

Hope this helps,

Michele
