[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen on a Bookmobile

Hi,

I checked with our bookmobile libraries and one uses Sprint devices and has good coverage and good response time as well. We are in Massachusetts.

I'll email again if I hear from the other bookmobiles. I believe they are all using the client on the bookmobile and not offline circulation.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen on a Bookmobile

Hi,
We run Evergreen live on our Bookmobile. Our county has fairly good cell coverage and the laptops get 3G or LTE at most stops. Despite this, the staff client runs poorly on the Bookmobile (slowness, error messages etc.). Equinox provided us with a technical explanation of why this is so which is reasonable. Are any other libraries out there running Evergreen on a Bookmobile using a cell connection? If so, are you experiencing latency? If yes, how do you work around it?

Thank you,
Scott
