[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] New test VM - Staff login

Hi Ben,
It turned out the problem was with the websockets configuration.
I was not able to get OpenSRF 3.1.0 to install on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS but I was able to get it to install on Ubuntu 18.04 but I was then unable to install Evergreen 3.2.4 on Ubuntu 18.04. So I ended up going back to Ubuntu 16.04 and OpenSR 3.0.2 and Evergreen 3.2.4 both of which did install without errors.
Thanks,
Charlotte

Yes, what Jane suggests is a good start. Basically the web client on your test server is unable to connect with the expected Websockets running off port 7682.
Something to keep in mind since you said OpenSRF 3.0.2... this step for websockets with OpenSRF is not actually optional if you want to use the web client.
http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/OpenSRF/README_3_0_2.html#_optional_websockets_installation_instructions
In OpenSRF 3.1.0, these steps are no longer marked optional and there's in fact other suggestions for that series. For Evergreen 3.2, it'll work with the older OpenSRF, but honestly the newest OpenSRF is usually pretty good to be on.
Hope this helps too.
