[Board] Site selection for next year's conference

That is a good question. I'm pretty sure the first time I got on a site
selection committee (for the 2015 conference), it was in answer to an email
request for volunteers to the General listserv. And it is one of those
committees you can serve on until you want a break, lol. But I've never
kickstarted the process.

I just looked back at all of the first emails and it seems that someone
from the Standing Committee would email everyone from the year before,
asking if they want to do it again, then putting out the call for more
volunteers (or asking people recommended) when necessary.

So, I guess the standing committee just needs to get together and figure
out which of us is kicking off the site selection. Amy chaired the 2015,
2016, 2018, and 2020 site selection committees (maybe more prior?), so we
should probably ask her--she's also the only one I can tell that is still
on the standing committee and has also chaired a site selection before.

But I agree with Galen; it will be good to see what the survey results say
and have the board weigh in.

Best,
Debbie
