[Eg-oversight-board] Mailing list policy: read/write for all?

My knee jerk reaction is that we want to be transparant and read access should be open to all. Our community empowers the members of the board with their annual vote. It is reasonable to limit write access to the board members (plus Bradley and Tony). We don't actually have a code of conduct yet, besides common sense. A persons choice of email handle probably falls under that document.

+1 == write for board members and ex-officio only, read for all.

Steve

P.S. I volunteer to take a turn at mail list de-duping/maintenance someday if needed. LMK!

Hi,On 05/16/2012 10:01 AM, McKinney, Elizabeth wrote:> Do you have any thoughts on filtering at all or is it okay to let> anyone/everyone subscribe, including potential spammers. Regardless, there are various technical solutions that are available for doing spam filtering, and if spam becomes an actual problem for this particular list, we should employ those first. As I mentioned in my previous email, I have every faith in Chris' judgment regarding routine maintenance and removing spammers, but if his time is limited, I'm sure there are several folks in the community who would be willing to help out with routine list maintenance.Regards,Galen--Galen CharltonDirector of Support and ImplementationEquinox Software, Inc. / The Open Source Expertsemail: gmc at esilibrary.comdirect: +1 770-709-5581cell: +1 404-984-4366skype: gmcharltweb: http://www.esilibrary.com/Supporting Koha and Evergreen: http://koha-community.org &http://evergreen-ils.org_______________________________________________eg-oversight-board mailing listeg-oversight-board at list.evergreen-ils.orghttp://list.evergreen-ils.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/eg-oversight-board
