[Evergreen-acq] Help with an invoice issue

Good morning,
I have a library who is new to acquisitions, and they are running into an issue when closing invoices. I have not been able to replicate the issue from scratch, but the same thing happens to me when I close out their existing invoices.
On certain invoices, there will be a total amount for the expected cost and several line items. When they close the invoice, two of those line items will disappear completely from the invoice, leaving a blank space where it was before, ad the total expected cost will adjust to reflect their removal. If the invoice is re-opened, the missing line items will come back. If the same invoice is closed again, two completely different line items will disappear.
There doesn't seem to be any pattern to which line items disappear, and I can't find any issues with the underlying state of the items. Plus, since they change each subsequent closing, it definitely doesn't seem to be an issue with the line items or connected Pos or anything like that.
This doesn't happen on all of their invoices, but it has happened on several. They are creating them manually, not via EDI.
This sounds familiar to me, and I feel like I've heard it discussed, but I haven't been able to find a bug, and I don't remember details of the discussion. Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks for any help!
