Ok, thanks. That is what I do too. I was looking specifically for a way to check the running version before and after applying a version update, just for additional confirmation of successful update.

Yep, seemed to work just fine. The only notable things I had to do afterwards were:

sudo ldconfig
sudo chown -R opensrf:opensrf /openils

I plan to rewrite this for the current version, when I get ambitious.
