[Evergreen-catalogers] Importing Bib Records/Authorities through MARC Batch Import/Export: File type question (.db, .dat?)

Do bibliographic records or authority records being imported into Evergreen with the MARC Batch Import/Export need to be a certain file type?
Using both 2.3.3 and 2.3.5 I've noticed that if I use a .db (Data Base File, from OCLC Connex) that the records in that file do not seem to get imported.   A screenshot:

Then I click Upload, and it quickly takes me to the next screen, where it's clear (I think...) nothing has been imported:

Is this a bug? Is Evergreen not able to import .db files from OCLC Connexion?   Has anyone else run into this?  Am I doing something wrong here, maybe in how I'm exporting from OCLC Connexion?

Importing works fine when I use the .dat files:
