[Evergreen-catalogers] Importing Bib Records/Authorities through MARC Batch Import/Export: File type question (.db, .dat?)

Hi Alex,

With files in general it doesn't matter what the extension is really, it's
all about what's in it. Those .db files from Connexion really are database
files. Aside from reading them in Connexion you can also use MarcEdit (I
believe) to open them up and get the records. Evergreen, as you've found
will not read and import from them.

Evergreen at the very least supports marc and marcxml for import. Doesn't
matter what the files are called, or even what the extension is (.mrc,
.dat, .xml, .wooh etc.), so long as you really have marc records in a
compatible format in the file.
