[Evergreen-catalogers] Template Editing Issues

We’re on 3.1.5 and are having template issues as well, mostly of the type that have already been reported (XUL-created templates tend to populate incompletely in the web client, with no noticeable pattern).  We’ve seen the same thing happen with new templates created entirely in the web client.  We’ve had at least one case of a cataloger creating entirely new templates with entirely new names (she was previously not using templates at all), and the same thing happened:  the fields (de)populate randomly.

My initial reaction was to ask people to recreate templates, but I haven’t yet seen full success with native web templates.

We are finding that item templates, even when replaced in the web client are still failing with some of the same errors. We are suspecting that, if the same name is used, the templates in the XUL client will replace the new templates. We don't have concrete evidence, it just seems to match what we are seeing.

We are on 3.0.12. When we moved to the web client several libraries reported that some templates added a blank alert message to items cataloged with that template. Our workaround was to add text to the alert box, save the item record, reopen it and delete the text. Doing the same in the template also fixed the template although I did start telling the library to delete the affected template and make a new one which could be faster.

Sometimes the web client adds alerts to an item. The alerts cannot be seen in the web client and have to be deleted in the XUL client.

Is anyone else having a problem with their templates today? I have tried editing in Staff Client and Web Client. I went into the template for an item and tried to remove the alert message/legacy copy alert. I deleted the note, but the modify copies/save & exit buttons wouldn't work (do not become active).
