Janet,

You are right--this type of resource is not defined as electronic resource
(it is not remote). 006 coding for computer file currently displays as
electronic resource, which according to my colleague, is a bug yet to be
fixed in Evergreen.

>From what you've described, the audio device should be described as "1
sound media player". Not sure if it is exactly the same device I have seen
before, the 300 field of which is something like this: "1 sound media
player (7 hr.) : ǂb digital ; ǂc 9 x 6 cm. + ǂe 1 set of earphones + 1 AAA
battery."

Since the device is built in the book, I would catalog the resource as "a"
type and add 007 to bring out the audio features. I would add "1 sound
media player" in subfield $e in 300 field as accompanying material. Of
course, there is nothing wrong to do it the other way around. But for a
group sharing the same bib database, folks should do it the same way to
keep consistency.
