[Evergreen-catalogers] Changing Item Status

I don't know if it's something our IT guys added (they do a lot of "tweaking" of how it's useable for us) or if it's a standard EVG thing, but we have a status of "Unavailable" that we use for this situation, for sending items to the cataloging dept for fixing, or if a librarian needs it for an event. Elizabeth is correct in that there are only a handful of statuses that you cannot change. If your item went "In Transit" to a branch, or became "On Hold Shelf", unfortunately, "In Transit" and "On Hold Shelf" statuses can't be changed and it's going to have to hang in limbo for a few days. If the item is reading as "Available", you should be able to change the status to whatever you want - unavailable, missing, in process, etc.

I hope that helps!

Mark it damaged or missing instead? That works if the goal is to just make it not "available" until next week.

I don't think status is a field you can change (in general). A quick and dirty solution would be to delete the holding and re-add it, especially since there are no real circ stats you run the risk of losing.

I have a book that can't go out until 12/3, a co-worker accidentally checked it in this morning. I went in to change the status back to In Process and it won't let me change this. Am I doing something wrong?
