[Evergreen-general] Pickup Locker Question

Hi Stuart,
So far, we only have 1 set of lockers, and it's located on premises. We
chose not to include an integrated book return unit with the lockers since
we already have a traditional book drop nearby, but most vendors do offer
return units — some even with the ability to check items in. Future plans
include installation of additional units in population centers in our
service area that do not have a nearby library, and we will likely include
integrated return bins in those installations.
Account blocks in Evergreen will prevent pickup of held items unless the
locker vendor can ignore specified blocks (ours currently cannot). To work
around this, we increased our checkout limit to hopefully avoid situations
in which patrons may exceed their limit even though they have returned
books in the book drop on the same visit. We also changed the library
setting "Block hold request if hold recipient privileges have expired" to
TRUE in the hope that patrons with expired accounts will realize there is
an issue while placing the hold instead of when they are trying to pick up
items after hours, and we are not here to assist them.
Hope this helps,
