I believe you should be fine with 10.10 but I'd recommend going with 
10.04 since it is designated the current LTS, long term support release.

It's hard to figure out what the issue is based on what you have 
provided, might want to look through the following wiki page to get 
OpenSRF working. It's mainly for Evergreen but there are sections which 
might be useful.

Also suggest you check through the configuration sections of the OpenSRF 
install since they might have been entered incorrectly.

Another avenue to get help is to hop on to the IRC chat say using the
