Hello list,

I'm working with training for Open Source Open Libraries consortium
in California http://opensource.califa.org/
and with the King County Library System IMLS grant. My training
background is 14 years with Infopeople in California as the training
person (director/mentor/coach/editor/whatever in regards to training)

I've explored some of the Evergreen and Koha online documentation. I
have a lot more to explore ;) I'm still working on getting up to
speed on it all and am feeling comfortable that I understand what is
going on with Koha but less confident about what is going on around
Evergreen.

I will be attending the Evergreen conference (I did last year but
wasn't so heavily involved in any specific OS project then) and am
planning to talk to as many people there as possible about training
and help documentation for end users (I don't know much about the
development side.)

I'll be presenting a session called "Getting There From Here" I'm
hoping training folks will come so we can share ideas. I've put the
workshop description at the end of this message for anyone who might
be interested. If others are presenting at the Evergreen conference
on training, I'll be there.

I've got contact info for several people and am already contacting
them. However, I'm interested in talking to the training people from
these libraries and am hoping someone can help me with contact
information. Ideally an email and phone number.

1. Shannon Dineen at Sitka

2. Someone at Michigan. These are the names I was told to start with
but I'd love to know if there is someone more appropriate on the topic
of training.
Marty Dulkuis or Evette Atkins

Thanks in advance. I look forward to meeting many of you in April,

Here's the description: Whether your decision to move to Evergreen
was a top-down decision or a consensus-based decision, you need to get
people on board and ready to do things differently. Without a vendor
to run the show, you’ll need a broader base of support from staff
during migration and, to take full advantage of your new system,
you’ll need staff to stay fully engaged through implementation. In
this session, you'll learn some key training and communication
techniques to help establish an environment where staff are eager to
contribute and can’t wait to start moving away from the status quo.
