You need to download and install the staff client locally. Be sure to get the right version to go with the demo server. I believe there is a page somewhere that tells you what login/password combinations you can use.
After you install the staff client, the first time you run it, you need to tell it the server name (something like demo.gapines.org). Then log in with the 'admin' username, give your workstation a name (anything unique will do), and pick a 'location' from the list. It will register your workstation and log you out. Then log in again with any of the authorized usernames and play with it.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Demo of cataloging function
I have looked at the Evergreen demo site but cannot figure out how to
see a demo of the staff client, particularly the cataloging function. I
did look at the documentation and saw slides but no "live action".
Please don't tell me it's right there as I will be really embarrassed if
I missed it. We plan on migrating in two years. I plan on learning a lot
more as soon as possible. I thought of downloading the staff client on
my home PC, new with lots of memory. Would I need a database of MARC
records? I hope these questions are not as dumb as they sound.
Thanks,
Janet
